We’re so pleased to welcome you to Olive Quay Cottage, a character-filled escape nestled in the historic village of Docking.

The cottage itself is over a century old and was originally part of North Farm – one of six large farms in the village. The farm’s fields once stretched northwards towards the sea, and the nearby farmhouse, still standing today, is over 300 years old.

Docking is one of the highest villages in Norfolk, known for its spectacular sunsets and peaceful countryside setting. Within the village, you’ll find a friendly pub, a local shop, and a weekly market selling fresh produce. Just a short drive away lie some of Norfolk’s most beautiful coastal spots, including Brancaster, Holkham, and Wells-next-the-Sea – perfect for beach walks, birdwatching, or simply enjoying the sea air.

For us, Olive Quay Cottage has always been more than a holiday home; it’s our sanctuary. Nestled in a village with a rich maritime history, the cottage carries a sense of heritage within its walls. Stepping inside, you feel the continuity of this history; a place that has harboured generations before us and now offers calm in today’s busy world. We wanted somewhere to escape the bustle and slow down. The cottage is perfect for our two boys, with endless activities nearby to keep them entertained, and being dog-friendly means our beloved pet comes too. We love mornings walking along the coast, afternoons exploring nearby villages and evenings by the fire. Olive Quay Cottage is where we reconnect, recharge and make memories; we’re delighted to share it with you.
